The Snake River is the heart and soul of Idaho Falls and a top attraction for locals and tourists. The river cuts through downtown, flanked by a paved trail system that runs for five miles on each side. The Idaho Falls River Walk offers joggers, cyclists, and pedestrians unimpeded views of the river and the falls. The Riverwalk is a joint project between the City and the Idaho Falls Rotary Club, which has been a primary contributor to the expansion and improvement of the River Walk.

The River Walk links several city parks, Historic Downtown, and newer developments such as Snake River Landing and Taylor Crossing. Visitors have easy access to downtown restaurants and shops. Every year special events such as the Idaho Falls Duck Race, Farmer’s Market, Snake River Roaring Youth Jam, and the 4th of July attract thousands of visitors to the River Walk. Free summer concerts take place Tuesdays at the stage on Memorial Drive and Thursdays in the adjoining Snake River Landing.

The Idaho Falls River Walk features a friendly atmosphere, where residents and tourists go to relax, exercise, meet friends, and picnic, all while taking in views of the Snake River.
