The Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park bills itself as the “Best Little Zoo in the West.” As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the conservation of animals and natural habitats is a leading priority for the Idaho Falls Zoo. Visitors will see animals from Africa, Asia, Australia and New Guinea, North America, and South America. Highlights include lions, zebras, penguins, lemurs, sloth bears, red-crowned cranes, snow leopards, wallabies, otters, pelicans, golden eagles, and macaws. At the kids petting zoo, pet a goat, feed a sheep, and watch the pigs play in the mud.
From Memorial through Labor Day weekend, we offer several opportunities each day for you to learn about the zoo animals from those who know them best–the zookeepers!
